Eric Jonasch, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses recent advancements in the treatment of renal carcinoma, highlighting the approval of adjuvant pembrolizumab in some countries and the introduction of belzutifan, a HIF-2α inhibitor now approved for refractory patients. He advocates for the ongoing development of HIF-2α agents and the introduction of novel therapies to improve cure rates and treatment outcomes for renal carcinoma patients. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
