ASCO 2026 | GLP-1 therapy and hormone receptor–positive breast cancer risk and survival: a real-world analysis

Zunairah Shah, MD, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Buffalo, NY, discusses findings from a large real-world analysis evaluating GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy and hormone receptor-positive breast cancer risk. Dr Shah highlights the reduced incidence of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer observed in women receiving GLP-1 therapy and discusses ongoing efforts to better understand the underlying biological mechanisms. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
