ELCC 2022 | The development of cell line models for the investigation of metastasis and IO in LUSC

Luis Montuenga, MD, Clinica Universidad de Navarra, Pamplona, Spain, talks on the development of two lung squamous-cell carcinoma (LUSC) cell lines, UN-SCC679 and UN-SCC680, derived from mouse models of LUSC that had been chemically induced with N-nitroso-tris-chloroethylurea (NTCU). Importantly, these cell lines can be transplanted into immunocompetent mice, and are thus highly useful tools for investigating immunotherapy for LUSC. An analysis on the metastatic potential of the cell lines revealed they have an affinity to the brain, bones, liver and adrenal glands, which is representative of the organotropism in human LUSC. This interview took place during the virtual European Lung Cancer Congress 2022.
