SABCS 2024 | MDA iLobulaRx: advancing prognostic tools for invasive lobular carcinoma

Jason Mouabbi, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses the development of the MDA iLobulaRx tool, designed to improve risk stratification in early-stage invasive lobular carcinoma (eILC). By incorporating clinical, pathological, and planned endocrine therapy data, the tool enhances prediction of overall survival and distant recurrence-free survival. Findings from a retrospective analysis of over 4,200 patients highlight the unique characteristics of eILC and the significant impact of adjuvant endocrine therapy on outcomes, providing a tailored approach to optimizing treatment strategies. This interview took place at the 2024 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) congress in San Antonio, TX.
