ESMO GI 2026 | Molecular screening for patients with biliary tract cancer

Julien Edeline, MD, PhD, Centre Eugene Marquis, Rennes, France, shares insights into molecular screening for patients with biliary tract cancer, highlighting the need to identify targetable mutations for treatment decisions. The standard for molecular screening is tissue biopsies, however in cases where results cannot be obtained from this, a liquid biopsy could be used as an alternative. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Gastrointestinal Cancer 2026 Congress in Munich, Germany.
