During the COVID-19 pandemic, same-day radical prostatectomy become more popular due to the inability to conduct inpatient surgery. Jim Hu, MD, Weill Cornell Medicine, New York, NY, comments on findings from a survey comparing the two modalities. Whilst patients satisfaction and pain sores were similar, same-day surgeries cost less and when given the choice, a majority of patients would choose same-say discharge.
