ASCO GI 2021 | Gender representation in authorship in later-phase clinical trials in BTC

Rachna T. Shroff, MD, University of Arizona Cancer Center, Tucson, AZ, discusses the results of a study aiming to describe and assess factors associated with female first and senior authorship in later phase systemic clinical trials in biliary tract cancer (BTC). The findings suggest that female author representation in later phase systemic clinical trial publications in BTC is low and has not changed significantly over time, and that underlying reasons for this imbalance should be explored.
