GU Cancers 2023 | Surgery for early metastatic seminoma

Siamak Daneshmand, MD, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, talks on surgery as a treatment option for patients with early metastatic seminoma. A trial was carries out including patients with early metastatic seminoma who had no prior treatment. The recurrence-free survival (RFS) was 81% with a 2-year minimum follow-up, with 78% of patients cured with surgery alone. Overall, the trial demonstrated promising results, presenting surgery as a possible alternative treatment option to systemic therapy. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2023 in San Francisco, CA.
