GU Cancers 2021 | WST11 vascular-targeted photodynamic therapy in UTUC

Lucas Nogueira, MD, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, describes the Phase I study of WST11 vascular-targeted photodynamic therapy (VTP), which involves the intravascular photosensitizing agent padeliporfin, in patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). In this study, WST11 VTP demonstrated a promising therapeutic effect in low- and high-grade UTUC with limited treatment-related toxicity and suggests further investigation of this therapy is warranted. This interview took place during the 2021 Genitourinary Cancers Symposium.
