ESMO 2022 | Unmet needs for palliative care in oncology

David Hui, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses the large variety of supportive care needs that patients with cancer experience, including physical, informational, and emotional needs, as well as the needs of their caregivers and family. Many topics need to be covered in each oncology consultation, so the involvement of a multidisciplinary team in the care of each patient is essential. Dr Hui also emphasises the importance of training more supportive and palliative care specialists. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2022 Congress in Paris, France.
