EBCC 2024 | Artificial intelligence in breast cancer screening study

Nisha Sharma, MBChB, MRCP, FRCR, The Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust, Leeds, UK, introduces a study on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in breast cancer screening. The study (ISRCTN18056078) looks at the use of AI in arbitration of breast screening images. In the trial, the AI is added as a third reader to the two existing human readers, with a view to replace one of the human readers. This interview took place at the 14th European Breast Cancer Conference (EBCC) in Milan, Italy.
