SABCS 2021 | Survival benefit of a combined surgical approach in patients with metastatic breast cancer

Nadeem Bilani, MD, Mount Sinai Morningside, New York, NY, discusses the results of an analysis of the National Cancer Database investigating the overall survival (OS) of stage IV breast cancer patients undergoing both primary site resection and metastasectomy. Patients with metastatic breast cancer undergoing primary site resection and metastasectomy exhibited optimal OS, particularly when metastasis involved only the liver or lung. This interview took place at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium 2021 in San Antonio.
