ESMO 2024 | PROACH: apatinib with gemcitabine and docetaxel in resectable metastatic osteosarcoma

Qiyuan Bao, MD, PhD, Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Shanghai, China, discusses the final results of the Phase II PROACH study (NCT03742193) of apatinib, a VEGFR2 inhibitor, with gemcitabine and docetaxel chemotherapy in resectable pulmonary metastases of osteosarcoma. Patients received apatinib plus chemotherapy pre- and post-metastasectomy, followed by apatinib monotherapy. The primary endpoint was met, where the required number of patients was progression-free at 12 months. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
