ASCO 2024 | CheckMate 9ER: nivolumab with cabozantinib in renal cell carcinoma

Camillo Porta, MD, University of Bari Aldo Moro, Bari, Italy, discusses findings from a comprehensive partitioned survival analysis of patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma (aRCC) treated with nivolumab and cabozantinib versus sunitinib in the CheckMate 9ER trial (NCT03141177). Over four years, the study found that nivolumab and cabozantinib significantly improved overall survival (OS) and treatment-free survival (TFS) compared to sunitinib alone. The findings highlight the potential for prolonged disease control with immunotherapy combinations. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
