ESMO 2023 | Evaluating endocrine therapy in pre-menopausal women with breast cancer

Patrick Neven, MD, University Hospitals Leuven, Leuven, Belgium, discusses differences in treating women with breast cancer who are pre-menopausal and post-menopausal. The addition of aromatase inhibitors and ovarian function suppression with existing endocrine therapy benefits pre-menopausal women. Additional caution is needed for people who are peri-menopausal, as ovarian function may still be active.
