Vinidh Paleri, MBBS, MS, FRCS (CSiG), FRCS (ORL-HNS), The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, highlights some of the advances in the treatment of head and neck cancer including immunotherapy and improved surgical techniques. Minimally invasive surgery has revolutionized the treatment of patients with recurrent head and neck cancer, with a huge scope for further research to further help patients. The International Center for Recurrent Head and Neck Cancer (IReC), launched at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, will further be involved in researching further advances in this field.
