ESMO 2020 | Promising new treatments for sarcomas: immunotherapy and fusion targeted compounds

Emanuela Palmerini, MD, Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute, Bologna, Italy, discusses interesting research investigating treatments for sarcoma. Sarcomas are aggressive diseases and there are few molecules available to treat it. However, the role of immunotherapy and fusion targeted compounds are promising. It is important to address questions about sarcomas in order to drive research. In particular, Dr Palmerini discusses the TRAMUNE trial (NCT03085225) on high-grade soft tissue sarcoma, the first results of the AcSé trial (NCT03012620) looking at rare sarcoma histotypes as well as the first in-human study of TK216 in Ewing sarcoma (NCT02657005). This interview was recorded via an online conference call with The Video Journal of Oncology (VJOncology).
