Catherine Alix-Panabieres, PhD, University Medical Center of Montpellier, Montpellier, France, discusses the future of liquid biopsy, covering three main points. First, is the need for more interventional clinical trials in order to introduce liquid biopsy into clinical practice. Second, is the need to combine a range of different circulating biomarkers in liquid biopsy tests, which will help with early diagnosis. Third, is the need for international guidelines on liquid biopsy. This interview took place at the International Society of Liquid Biopsy (ISLB) 2021 Virtual Meeting.
