Gaia Griguolo, MD, University of Padova, Padova, Italy, highlights the Phase III AFT-38 PATINA trial (NCT02947685) which investigated the addition of palbociclib, a CDK4/6 inhibitor, to anti-HER2 and endocrine therapy for patients with HR+/HER2+ breast cancer. The trial demonstrated a significantly prolonged progression-free survival (PFS), which has positive implications for a novel standard of breast cancer treatment. This interview took place at 2024 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) congress in San Antonio, TX.
