Icro Meattini, MD, University of Florence, Florence, Italy, comments on the management of breast cancer in BRCA mutation carriers, highlighting that germline BRCA mutations can be effectively managed with various treatments, including breast cancer, surgery, radiotherapy, or mastectomy, without significantly increasing the risk of death from breast cancer. Dr Meattini notes that BRCA1 carrier patients may require more aggressive surgical approaches, but overall, the risk of death from breast cancer is comparable to mastectomy alone. This interview took place at the ESTRO 2025 congress in Vienna, Austria.
