ESMO 2024 | Managing hematological and GI toxicities in patients with lung cancer

Mariana Brandão, MD, PhD, Jules Bordet Institute, Brussels, Belgium, emphasizes the importance of using granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (g-CSF) to address hematological toxicity while also monitoring for iron deficiency. For gastrointestinal (GI) toxicity, careful review of baseline CT scans is needed to identify early signs of interstitial lung disease (ILD) or pneumonia, thereby minimizing the risk of complications during treatment. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
