ASCO 2023 | Evaluating the utility of liquid biopsies in glioblastoma

Manmeet Ahluwalia, MD, MBA, FASCO, Baptist Health South Florida, Miami, FL, discusses the potential role of liquid biopsies in glioblastoma. Whilst the blood brain barrier have made carrying out liquid biopsies difficult, focused ultrasound may increase the levels of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) necessary for liquid biopsies. Analyzing ctDNA via liquid biopsies will be less invasive than traditional biopsies, and detect novel mechanisms of resistance. This interview took place at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2023 Annual Congress in Chicago, IL.
