ESMO 2024 | Sarcoma trials at ESMO 2024: MEGAMOST, AXAGIST, and more

Joanna Szkandera, MD, Medical University of Graz, Graz, Austria, gives an overview of various sarcoma trials presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress. The MEGAMOST study (NCT04116541) show promising results in patients with MDM2-CDK4 amplified liposarcoma receiving siremadlin and ribociclib. A Phase II trial (NCT04438824) also investigated palbociclib and retifanlimab in dedifferentiated liposarcoma, achieving durable responses in a subset of patients. Olutasidenib was assessed in a Phase Ib/II trial (NCT03684811) in IDH1-mutant chondrosarcomas. Additional gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) trials assessing olverembatinib (NCT03594422) and axitinib plus avelumab (NCT04258956) are also highlighted. This interview took place at the ESMO 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
