BTOG 2024 | Reflecting on BTOG 2024: networking and multidisciplinary collaboration

Sanjay Popat, BSc, MBBS, FRCP, PhD, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, reflects on the enriching experience of the BTOG 2024 annual meeting in Belfast emphasizing the value of networking and multidisciplinary collaboration. With over 200 abstracts submitted, the poster session showcased diverse research expertise, particularly from junior investigators. Prof. Popat highlights the quality of oral presentations, which delved into various aspects of multidisciplinary care, including diagnostics, optimal therapies, and controversies in operable lung cancer management. Of particular interest is the ongoing implementation of ctDNA or liquid biopsies, which shows promising impact on patient care and is anticipated to become a national service in the future.
