Firas Baidoun, MD, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH, discusses the findings of a propensity score matching of the National Cancer Database investigating the impact of the timing perioperative chemotherapy on survival outcomes among patients with colorectal liver metastases. In this analysis, it was found that patients with colorectal cancer and isolated liver metastases who were treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy had a statistically significant improvement in overall survival (OS) when compared to patients who were treated with adjuvant chemotherapy.
