ESMO WCGIC 2021 | Impact of gender and HPV status on anal squamous cell carcinoma survival

Firas Baidoun, MD, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH, talks on the impact of gender and HPV status on overall survival (OS) in patients with anal squamous cell carcinoma using the National Cancer Database. Females had better OS only in non-metastatic anal squamous cell carcinoma, in addition HPV-negative status was associated with worse OS only in patients with metastatic anal squamous cell carcinoma. This interview took place at the ESMO World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer 2021.
