ASCO GI 2025 | Impact of MTAP deletions on IO response and PRMT5 inhibition in GI cancers

Jun Gong, MD, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA, elucidates how the retrospective identification of MTAP deletions in certain gastrointestinal cancers could be hypothesis-generating. Clinical trials exploring combination strategies with PRMT5 inhibitors in cholangiocarcinoma are feasible, and future trials involving immunotherapy (IO) may assess MTAP deletions as prognostic or predicative biomarkers. This interview took place at the ASCO GI Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
