Manmeet Singh Ahluwalia, MD, from the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH, talks to us about the growing concerns with brain metastases, which are a common issue in the clinic and are arising in more cancer patients. With recent developments in therapy, including targeted therapies and immunotherapies that can penetrate the blood-brain barrier and thus effectively treat brain metastases, Dr Ahluwalia notes that many novel drug combinations have shown benefit in treating brain metastases in various cancer states, including breast cancer and melanoma. This interview was filmed at the American Society of Oncology (ASCO) 2017 Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL.
