ASCO GI 2025 | Outcome of radiation-related esophageal stricture from endoscopic dilation

Yinghong Wang, MD, PhD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, comments on the management of post-radiation esophageal stricture through endoscopic dilation, highlighting the significant benefits of weight gain in over 50% of patients, allowing for the discontinuation of non-oral feeding methods such as PEG feeding. Dr Wang also notes the importance of addressing this knowledge gap, as large-scale studies are lacking in this area. This interview took place at the ASCO GI Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
