ASCO 2023 | Reduce risk and improve survival in pregnant patients who have cancer

Frederic Amant, MD, PhD, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Leuven, Belgium, talks on reducing risk and improving survival in pregnant patients with cancer. Prof. Amant emphazes taking their complaints seriously and ensuring early diagnosis as a delay in diagnosis can occur due to pregnancy symptoms mimicking cancer symptoms. He stresses the importance of conducting investigations without delay and adhering to standard treatment protocols as closely as possible. By following standard treatment approaches, outcomes for pregnant patients with conditions like Hodgkin’s lymphoma and breast cancer can be comparable to those of non-pregnant patients. This interview took place at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2023 Annual Congress in Chicago, IL.
