ESMO 2024 | Benefits of exercise during chemotherapy for breast cancer

Helene Rundqvist, PhD, Karolinska Institutet, Solna, Sweden, highlights the importance of exercise for patients undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. Findings from multiple studies showing that regular exercise during treatment significantly alleviates side effects, enhances quality of life, reduces fatigue, and helps maintain physical function, including fitness and muscle strength. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
