Klaus Pantel, MD, PhD, University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf, Hamburg, Germany, comments on the utility of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in guiding treatment for patients. With the emergence of multiple technologies and techniques can sensitively detect ctDNA, cancer can be detected at earlier stages and relapses can be predicted if needed. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2023 Congress in Madrid, Spain.
