WCLC 2024 | Biomarker identification in NSCLC treated with neoadjuvant chemo-IO

Yulong Chen, MD, Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute & Hospital, Tianjin, China, discusses research on biomarkers associated with clinical outcomes in patients with stage II/III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with neoadjuvant pembrolizumab and chemotherapy. Whole transcriptome sequencing revealed that baseline pathological complete response (pCR) tumors exhibited upregulated immunomodulatory genes, while post-surgical samples showed positive immune regulation and reduced tumor progression markers. The study identified key biomarkers, which correlate with survival outcomes. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
