Johan De Munter, RN, University Hospital Ghent, Ghent, Belgium, elaborates on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the implementation of novel cancer care strategies. The pandemic has highlighted new ways to approach cancer care. For instance, since the pandemic, there has been an increase in the number of cancer care services delivered at home. Therefore, it is important to develop new technologies to monitor, inform and support patients from home to maintain a high-quality standard of cancer care. There is ongoing research investigating the use of innovating technologies and involving patients in thinking about ways to improve cancer care. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2021 congress.
