Wolfgang Janni, MD, PhD, University of Ulm, Ulm, Germany, discusses the potential for chemo-free therapy in triple-positive metastatic breast cancer (mBC) by incorporating ribociclib. Ongoing results from the Phase III DETECT V trial (NCT02344472) and other randomized studies are eagerly awaited to determine the viability of this approach. If successful, ribociclib could become a standard first-line treatment for patients with triple-positive mBC, offering a less intensive alternative to traditional chemotherapy. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
