Efrat Dotan, MD, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia, PA, discusses the unique challenges faced by older adults with pancreatic cancer, a condition often diagnosed at a median age of 70. Dr Dotan highlights that these patients frequently contend with multiple comorbidities, functional impairments, nutritional issues, and cognitive challenges, all of which impact their ability to tolerate and benefit from cancer treatments. Addressing these factors is crucial for optimizing care and improving outcomes for this vulnerable population. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
