Vesna Bjelic-Radisic, MD, PhD, Helios University Hospital Wuppertal, Wuppertal, Germany, comments on the quality of life (QoL) data from the PADMA study (NCT03355157), a randomized trial comparing palbociclib plus endocrine therapy (ET) to standard mono-chemotherapy in high-risk HER2-/HR+ metastatic breast cancer. Patients receiving the combination reported significantly better overall, physical, and emotional well-being. Despite similar outcomes in daily QoL questions and time to deterioration, the findings support a quality of life advantage for the combination approach over standard chemotherapy. This interview took place at the 2025 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Annual Congress in Munich, Germany.
