Giulia Martini, MD, PhD, Università degli Studi della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, Naples, Italy, describes the requirement for standardization before circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) hyperselection can be implemented into routine clinical decision-making for microsatellite-stable (MSS) metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Additional pre-analytic and post-analytic variables could be introduced, thus standardization is required to ensure patients receive consistent molecular selection results. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Gastrointestinal Cancer 2026 Congress in Munich, Germany.
