WCLC 2024 | Enhancing biomarker test awareness in patients with NSCLC with the 4R model

Frank Weinberg, MD, PhD, University of Illinois Chicago, Chicago, IL, explores the impact of the 4R Oncology model on improving patient awareness regarding biomarker testing timing and its purpose in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) care. The 4R model focuses on providing the right information and care to patients in a timely manner, and the intervention involved personalized care plans, enhancing patient engagement and understanding. Results showed significant improvements in patient awareness and willingness to wait for biomarker test results before treatment, demonstrating the effectiveness of the 4R model in optimizing NSCLC patient care. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
