Massimo Lazzeri, MD, PhD, Humanitas University, Milan, Italy, comments on a prospective study evaluating a personalized screening protocol for individuals with germline pathogenic variants in DNA repair genes. Using PSA, Prostate Health Index, and multiparametric MRI, the study found no prostate cancer cases after three years but identified cases of bladder cancer. Compliance with screening was high, underscoring the feasibility of tailored approaches. Ongoing follow-up may provide further insights into genetic predisposition and optimal screening strategies for high-risk populations This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
