ESMO 2024 | CheckMate 9ER: glycoproteomic biomarkers for nivolumab and cabozantinib in aRCC

Camillo Porta, MD, A. Moro University of Bari, Bari, Italy, explores the CheckMate 9ER trial (NCT03141177), which investigated protein glycosylation as predictive biomarkers for nivolumab plus cabozantinib versus sunitinib in advanced renal cell carcinoma (aRCC). Glycopeptides were identified as associated with progression-free survival and overall survival. Higher levels of protein fucosylation and sialylation correlated with poorer outcomes. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
