Nabil Saba, MD, Emory University, Atlanta, GA, comments on the mixed results in head and neck cancer presented at ESMO 2025, with several negative trials investigating combinations of immune modulatory agents with pembrolizumab, but also some encouraging studies such as the use of amivantamab as a single agent, which showed responses up to 40% in heavily pretreated patients. Dr Saba highlights that the upcoming Phase III OrigAMI-5 trial, which will combine amivantamab with carboplatin and pembrolizumab, is a promising development in this field. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2025 Congress in Berlin, Germany.
