WCLC 2023 | Accessibility and demand for patient-friendly resources in lung cancer

Eric Singhi, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston, TX, discusses the availability and demand for patient-friendly resources in lung cancer care. A survey of patients with non-small cell lung cancer concluded that most patients use online resources to learn more about their diagnosis and treatment plan. Patients also reported a lack of resources available that catered to the patient perspective, and they preferred their clinical provider to explain their treatment plan. Dr Singhi comments that the growing use of open access platforms and publications demonstrates the need to make cancer research data accessible for patients. This interview took place at the 2023 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in Singapore, Singapore.
