In this latest episode of the VJOncoAlert Journal Club, Eva Blondeaux, MD, University of Genova, Genova, Italy, discusses the association between risk-reducing surgeries and survival in young BRCA carriers with breast cancer, as evaluated in an international cohort study. BRCA carriers with previous breast cancer diagnosis at a young age, risk-reducing mastectomy and risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy were both associated with a significant improvement in overall survival.
