WCLC 2023 | Difficulty in shared decision-making for lung cancer screening

David Yankelevitz, MD, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, NY, outlines the difficulty involved in shared decision-making for lung cancer screening. The concept has been a topic of debate in recent years and many professionals support its elimination. Clinicians believe shared-decision making is restrictive, especially in regard to the amount of time available to deliver necessary information. Dr Yankelevitz proposes that a general view must be formed as to what information must be communicated to the patient. This interview took place at the 2023 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in Singapore, Singapore.
