Salvador Jaime-Casas, MD, City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, Duarte, CA, describes clinical and pathological predictors of lymph node positivity in patients with clinically node-negative bladder cancer undergoing radical cystectomy. Lymphovascular invasion and positive surgical margins are key predictors of occult nodal involvement, which is associated with worse recurrence-free and overall survival. Preoperative hydronephrosis also emerged as an independent prognostic factor. These results may help guide perioperative treatment strategies and bladder preservation approaches in this patient population. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
