Gerard M Walls, MB, MRCP, MSc, FRCR, Queens University, Belfast, UK, discusses the challenges of treating lung cancer patients with cardiac comorbidities, highlighting the need for an individualized approach that considers the patient’s overall quality of life, performance status, and other factors beyond just their medical history. Dr Walls emphasizes the importance of using holistic assessments, such as ECOG performance status, 3LD scores, geriatric assessments, sarcopenia assessments, and ePROMs, to determine the best course of treatment for each patient. This interview took place at the 2026 European Lung Cancer Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark.
