ASCO 2025 | Evolving front-line strategies in mRCC and mCSPC
Michael Serzan, MD, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, comments on the significance of two studies at ASCO 2025. Dr Serzan highlights the final analysis of the Phase III CheckMate 214 trial (NCT02231749), which demonstrated a positive outcome for immunotherapy in first-line metastatic clear cell kidney cancer, leading to improved overall survival and setting a standard for immunotherapy in this patient population. He also expresses excitement for the Phase III AMPLITUDE study (NCT04497844), which investigates the efficacy and toxicity profile of PARP inhibitors in combination with hormonal therapy in first-line metastatic castrate-sensitive prostate cancer.
