ASCO 2026 | Optimal timing of ctDNA dynamics to prognosticate ICI efficacy in melanoma
Vincent Ma, MD, University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI, discusses the role of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) monitoring in prognosticating patients with metastatic or unresectable melanoma treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). Dr Ma highlights a multicenter retrospective analysis showing that ctDNA levels between 31 to 60 days after starting immunotherapy has a higher correlation with objective response rate (ORR), progression-free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS) compared to 30 days or less. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
