Evandro De Azambuja, MD, PhD, Jules Bordet Institute, Brussels, Belgium, shares the final overall survival results from the APHINITY trial in HER2-positive early breast cancer. Presented at ESMO Breast 2025, the 11.3-year follow-up shows improved overall survival and invasive disease-free survival (IDFS) with the addition of pertuzumab to trastuzumab and chemotherapy—especially in node-positive patients. These long-term data confirm the benefit of dual HER2-targeted therapy without new cardiac safety concerns, marking an important advancement for patient care.
